How does it work?
An Air Source Heat Pump works by extracting heat from the outside air—even in low temperatures. The outdoor unit absorbs this ambient warmth and transfers it to a refrigerant. The refrigerant is then compressed, increasing its temperature, and passed through a heat exchanger inside the home. This heat is transferred to your central heating system, providing warmth through radiators or underfloor heating. Once the refrigerant cools, it cycles back to the outdoor unit to begin the process again, delivering a continuous, energy-efficient supply of heat.
Oil boilers
If your property doesn’t have access to mains gas because you live in a rural location, for example; an oil boiler offers a good solution for heating your home and water.
Unlike a gas boiler (which is connected to a constant supply of gas through the gas grid), oil boilers are powered by a tank of oil. This tank is typically stored in the garden and needs refilling when it runs empty.
Replacing an existing oil boiler with an up-to-date model could improve fuel efficiency and help you enjoy lower running costs, therefore allowing you to get the most out of every tank of oil.

Unvented cylinder
You don’t want a leak, but if you’ve got an old cylinder it’s a possibility, and you just need to call us to get it fixed fast. However, that’s not the only reason for changing your hot water cylinder. If you find the hot water runs out before the family have finished their ablutions, it may be time for a bigger hot water cylinder that meets the needs of your family.
You may want to swap a traditional cylinder for an unvented cylinder. That means that your hot water tank is fed directly from the mains instead of from a tank in your loft. If you’re thinking of a new central heating system you might want to consider a combination boiler, which means there’s no need for a hot water cylinder at all!
